Calibre Family 80000
The Pellaton pawl-winding system is the starting point for innovations in watchmaking technology in the 80000-calibre family. With its eccentrically formed cam, it converts the rotational movement of the wrist into a to-and-fro motion that can be used by the movement’s winding mechanism. This allows even the most incremental of rotor movements to be used to wind the movement. The result is one of the world’s most efficient automatic movements – it easily outperforms unidirectional winding mechanisms. One of the most robust movements ever manufactured by IWC is the 80110 calibre, which features an integrated shock-absorption system to protect the rotor bearing from impacts and vibrations, and is easily accessed for servicing.
