The Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium® is the first TOP GUN model to feature a Timezoner function to change between different time zones effortlessly.
ABOUT THE WATCH
Pilot's Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium®
TOP GUN watches, made with technically advanced materials, have been a mainstay of IWC’s pilot’s watches collection since 2007. The Pilot’s Watch Timezoner TOP GUN Ceratanium® is the first TOP GUN model with a timezoner function. Simply by pressing down and rotating the bezel, a different time zone can be set. The hour hand, the integrated 24-hour display and the date will move forwards or backwards in one-hour steps. This also works across the dateline and without losing a single second in the process. The case of this all-black pilot’s watch is manufactured from Ceratanium®. Developed by IWC over five years, this performance material combines the unique strengths of titanium and ceramic: It’s light and robust like titanium and, at the same time, similarly hard and scratch-resistant like ceramic. In addition, IWC’s most recent material innovation also impresses with its striking, matte black finish. The city ring, made from matte black ceramic, contains the names of 24 cities, each one representing a different international time zone. The numerals are printed in grey on the dial, while the numbers 12, 3, 6 and 9 are coated with luminescent material. The jet-black tactical design is complemented with a tinted sapphire glass case back and a black rubber strap with textile inlay. Inside the 46-millimetre case, the IWC-manufactured 82760 calibre is at work. Its Pellaton winding system has been reinforced with components made of virtually wear-free ceramic and generates a power reserve of 60 hours – enough autonomy to fly through several time zones at once.
Timezoner | IWC Schaffhausen
The names of 24 cities are displayed on the bezel; each one represents one of the international time zones. The bezel is pushed down on opposing sides with the thumb and forefinger. The desired time zone (or, during the daylight saving time, the small “S” just before the city name) is then turned to the “12 o’clock” position. The movement of the bezel is transferred to the hour wheel, 24-hour display and date advance wheel, ensuring that all three displays can be adjusted forwards or backwards in one-hour steps. Drive for the normal movement of the hour hand and its “jump” when the time zone is changed is provided via a differential gear.
