Pilot's Watch Mark XX Patrouille Suisse
With the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Patrouille Suisse, IWC Schaffhausen pays tribute to the Swiss Air Force aerobatic team of the same name. Founded in 1964, the Patrouille Suisse aims to demonstrate the performance, precision and operational readiness of the Swiss Air Force both at home and abroad. Its characteristic red-white F-5 E Tiger aircraft are flown by pilots from the professional flying corps. Formation flying is pure manual work that requires precision and technical perfection – qualities that are also essential in watchmaking. Limited to 250 pieces only, the Pilot’s Watch Mark XX Patrouille Suisse is the fifth special edition that IWC Schaffhausen has created in honor of the Patrouille Suisse – and the first to feature a titanium case. With the highest strength to density ratio of any metal, titanium is exceptionally robust and weighs about one third less than steel. The 40-millimeter titanium case has a sand-blasted, matte grey finish. The case back, also made of titanium, is adorned with a special engraving. In addition to showing three aircraft in formation flight, it also states “Tribute to Patrouille Suisse” as well as the individual limitation number. The titanium case is complemented by a grey dial and black hands with luminescence. This special edition is powered by the IWC-manufactured 32111 caliber, an automatic movement featuring a power reserve of 120 hours. It is fitted with a black textile strap with a titanium pin buckle, both featuring EasX-Change.
